Global Initiatives at UC

UC International supports a wide variety of global initiatives, from multidisciplinary research to customized international coursework.

The goal is to expand opportunities for University of Cincinnati students, faculty and staff, to advance research and to foster innovative approaches to world challenges by strengthening our international partnerships.

For that purpose, our office also awards grants for creative proposals by UC and partner faculty and staff.

Current Initiatives

With international travel limited at present, UC International has been developing virtual collaborative projects to continue momentum with our strategic partners.

Faculty Fellows Pilot Program
Apply by September 10th

UC International is piloting a fellowship program to help advance UC’s global strategic partnerships and initiatives. All levels/ranks of faculty can apply for three new fellowships.

  • Strategic Partnerships (China): Identify and cultivate relationships with potential strategic partners in the region; employ creative means if travel is not possible, in order to develop multidisciplinary collaborations in mobility, teaching and research
  • Virtual Initiatives: Develop innovative virtual collaborations to engage students and faculty more widely in international education and to connect with global partners where travel is limited; propose revenue-generating/revenue-neutral models for such collaborations
  • Cultural Engagement: Create 2-3 virtual cultural events in collaboration with diverse strategic partners to engage students who might not otherwise study internationally and to foster collaboration with universities where travel is limited

Faculty appointed to the fellowships will convene and lead new working groups focused on the chosen goals. More information is available on UC International's site on Bearcats Landing (login required).
