UC International supports the University of Cincinnati's global education and research mission.
As a world-class university, we can prepare our students for a global future, engage our university in the communities we serve, and field research teams that can address complex world problems.
More than ever, we have become conscious of how interconnected our world is. The saying is, "Think globally, act locally." As a Carnegie-1 public research university, we must act globally, too.
Our Next Lives Here vision of innovation and real-world impact can only be realized if our outlook is international.
I am inspired by the University of Cincinnati students, faculty, staff and alumni whose passion and spirit of service embody this vision.
When all of us embrace our international community, plan for a global future and scale our work for wide-reaching impact, I believe that we can make all the difference in the world.
I believe that we can make all the difference in the world.
Dr. Raj Mehta Vice Provost for International Affairs
In 2005, under the direction of UC President Nancy Zimpher, international student services and the study abroad office were combined to form UC International. The University of Cincinnati became one of only a few universities with a senior leader and planning division devoted to global initiatives.
Under the leadership of the first Vice Provost for International Affairs, Dr. Mitch Leventhal, UC became one of the founding members of the American International Recruitment Council (AIRC), the national professional organization that sets standards for international student recruitment.
Leventhal was succeeded by UC's director of the University Honors Program, Dr. Raj Mehta, in 2012. Mehta has devoted the resources of UC International to building strategic partnerships around the world, emphasizing university-wide research and teaching collaborations in addition to student and faculty exchange.
In 2018, International Admissions became a unit underneath the UC International umbrella.
